  PLASMA SURFACE TREATMENT
Documentation
CPI conducts at industrial scale, the surface functionalization of films and fabrics by continuous (roll-to-roll) plasma treatment at atmospheric pressure. CPI has developed specific functionalization and deposition methods based on innovative chemistry. Applications include bonding, digital printing, flexible packaging, lamination, etc.
Picture
A wide range of efficient surface functionalizations
  • Stable high surface energy up to 72 mN/m with exceptional wettability and adhesion (anti fog possible). See case study here.
  • Hydrophilic / hydrophobic balance and biocompatibility adjustment.
  • Stable low surface energy (lower than 20 mN/m) with adjustable release properties. See case study here.
  • Functionalization and grafting by covalent bonds.
  • Optimized surface chemistry: amines / amides-imides equilibrium.
  • Nanocoatings (silica, silicone...).
Over a wide range of flexible substrates
  • Polymer films, fabrics, woven and nonwoven (PP, BOPP, PE, PET, PA, PVC, FEP, PTFE, ETFE, ECTFE, PVDF, PVF, PEEK etc.).
  • Cellulose, paper, ceramics, glass, metal, metallized films.
Providing exceptional benefits
  • Adhesion and printing without primers.
  • Printing with all types of inks (water based, solvent based, UV / EB crosslinkable, digital).
  • Improving adherence to laminating, metallization and varnishing.
